Anchovy Fishing Season

Just over a month into the anchovy fishing season (starting April 22, 2025) in the North-Central zone of the country, recent results have sharply slowed down, in account of rough sea and recent bans. For this season, the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) was set at 3 million metric tons.

As of May 25, 2025, a total of 1,619,508 tons have been caught, representing 54% of the total quota. However, in the past seven days, the average daily catch has fallen to just over 26,000 tons.
